If a result looks wrong
Copy the link to your result with the button at the top of the calculator and paste it into your email. The link carries every number you entered, so we can see exactly what you saw. Tell us what you expected and where that number came from (a plan, a code book, a supplier's chart).
Embedding a calculator
Lumber yards, sawmills, deck builders and woodworking blogs can embed any calculator for free. The code is at the bottom of each calculator page. If you need a different height, a specific default (say, your yard's price per board foot), or a version without the drawing, email us and we'll see what we can do.
Ideas for new calculators
Next on the list are span charts built from American Wood Council tables, baluster spacing, linear feet, fence and firewood calculators. If you keep doing a calculation by hand that isn't here, tell us about it.
What we can't help with
We can't review plans, approve a design, or tell you whether your project will pass inspection. Your local building department is the right call for that, and many will answer questions over the phone before you apply for a permit.
